Happy Friday! Here’s the latest Columbus restaurant news:
Chef Josh Dalton and his team open their newest restaurant, Amara, on Friday, July 10 in the former Milestone 229 space along the Scioto Mile. The restaurant draws on a variety of Mediterranean inspirations for the food and drink. Dalton also owns Speck Italian Eatery, Veritas, and Rosebud’s, and he’s working on Rosalita’s in downtown Columbus.
Louisville-based Jeff’s Donuts opened their first central Ohio location at 5717 N. Hamilton Rd. yesterday. Jeff’s has a half dozen locations around Louisville, plus one in Lexington. They’re open 24/7 with a full assortment of yeast-raised donuts. Hit the link to see more!
Fox in the Snow opens its newest location, and its seventh overall, on Saturday, July 11 at 1510 W. Lane Ave. in Upper Arlington. They’ll open at 8 a.m., and they’re making a limited number of a special peach galette.
The Daily Growler in German Village recently revamped and re-opened as The Daily Etcetera, and unfortunately on the 4th of July a car ran into their patio and front door! Thankfully no one was hurt and the damage was minimal, so after some repairs they have RE-re-opened.
New York City-based PopUp Bagels is coming to Columbus! They’re headed to 850 N. High St. in the Short North. No word on the exact opening date yet.
Josie’s Original Pizza opens a second location at 1675 Holt Rd. on the west side on Friday, July 10.
An international ramen chain called Tonchin is set to open in the former Mecha Noodle Bar space at 965 N. High St. in the Short North. Tonchin originated in Tokyo but has locations in New York City, Brooklyn, Mexico City, and Los Angeles.
Melt n Dip has opened at 6313 Sawmill Rd. in Dublin. The shop features Belgian chocolates, waffles, crepes, pancakes, ice cream, milkshakes, and more dessert items.
