Coffee, Donuts, and Breakfast Every Wednesday at the Columbus Commons

by admin

I love the programming at the Columbus Commons during the warmer months, from the concerts to the family days to the fitness classes, but I especially love the weekly lineup of food trucks. Thursday at lunch is the Food Truck Food Court, and Wednesdays is – wait for it – Breakfast at the Commons!

Breakfast at the Commons is every Wednesday from May through October, 8 a.m. to noon. This year they’ve added a couple new trucks to their lineup.

So now you’ll find everything from donuts to French toast, coffee to smoothies, breakfast sandwiches to burritos.

New this year – at least for breakfast – is Dos Hermanos!

They’ve added a simple menu of breakfast tacos, a quesadilla, burrito, or bowl, plus sides of breakfast potatoes and chorizo potatoes.

I hadn’t had Dos Hermanos’ breakfast before, so I ordered up a breakfast burrito with eggs, potatoes, two types of cheese, bacon bits and chorizo, avocado, peppers, and onions. It was big enough that I didn’t need lunch that day!

Another new addition is Sunny Sips, a cute little trailer that does smoothies, refreshers, matcha, and iced coffee. We’re familiar with them from the Worthington Farmers Market, so I snagged an iced coffee to go with my breakfast.

Returning this year is Roaming Rooster, which serves breakfast sandwiches (including a breakfast smashburger), bowls, and French toast nuggets with sweet and savory toppings.

Last year I enjoyed their Fried’Tatta breakfast sandwich and a side of their POT (potatoes, onions, peppers) mix.

Biscuit Boss has also become a staple of Breakfast at the Commons.

True to their name, their signature is biscuits, from a variety of biscuit sandwiches to biscuits and gravy. It’s hard to forget their Bodacious breakfast sandwich, with a little bit of everything plus a heavy drizzle of maple syrup.

And Donna’s Delicious Dozen is a regular, bringing their made-to-order mini donuts with a variety of fun toppings.

They also serve up Crimson Cup coffee to go with your donuts.

On my latest visit I tried the Feelin’ Fruitylicious and The Mitch with vanilla icing, bacon, and caramel drizzle.

Breakfast at the Commons is every Wednesday, May through October, from 8 a.m. to noon.
